Concerts

Next week Metallica are performing in Lisbon in two different days, I'm going to both. The first I'll be going with Rita and my mom, the second I'll be alone. I'm hopping for a great show after all it's METALLICA, they always seem to put up a hell of a show and this is going to be my first one with a circle stage in the midle of the place.

After Metallica it's Rock In Rio - Rammstein, Motorhead, Megadeath and Soulfly.
In the 22th of June it's Slash in the Coliseum.
In July it's the Alive Festival with Faith No More, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam among others.
In Agust Sudoeste with Mondo Cane. I'm curious about Massive Attack in the same day.
Vagos Open Air with My Dying Bride, Carcass and Meshuggah.
....

and so on...

Anyway there is not enough money for all of that.

The ones I'm going for sure is Alive festival, Rock In Rio and Sudoeste. I'm really looking forward to see Slash mainly to Myles Kennedy, I think he has one of the best voices in music nowadays and I can't wait to hear him live but like I said I don't know if I have enough money. The tickets are extremely expensive.

Live Concerts

Even though the year just started there are already lots of anxiety for the summer concerts and the ones ahead. As the names for the festivals are being revealed the excitment grows. This year there are a few bands playing in Lisbon that I can't wait to see such as Metallica and Pearl Jam. I have to be honest this year can be really great as far as concerts goes but the truth is that so far not many bands that interest me are coming or were anounced to come play here. I'm hopping that with time more big names pop out.
Last year I had a ball, Chris Cornell, Metallica, Placebo, Prodigy, Faith No More, etc. The later being the best concert I have ever been to. It was just fucking amazing. I controlled myself through the entire set because I wanted to pay attention to every single detail, I didn't wanna loose a moment, a move, anything. I loved their performance and the choice of songs that would only be better if they had played Zombies eaters, The Real Thing or The Edge Of The World. But still it was the best concert I have ever seen.
Chris Cornell is one of my favourites singers and although I'm not a big fan of his last album the concert was pretty good with quite a few Soundgarden songs and not forgetting Temple Of The Dog.
Metallica was great as usual, they always put on a great show. In 2007 I saw them in Super Rock Super Bock with the perfect setlist so after that concert it's been hard to keep up. Anyway they always give us a hell of a show.
Placebo were ok, I felt that they weren't feeling it, maybe it was just me. Plus it wasn't the first time I saw them which makes me compare the concerts.
Prodigy were a blast, for a concert I wasn't interested in they owned that night. They were headlining and my friends made me go with them to the front near the pits. All I can say is that I found myself in the mosh pit after two or three songs.
There were so many bands I wanted to see last year but couldn't due to the lack of money. Despite that I hope this year will keep up the last one. So far there are only a few bands confirmed to play here like Pearl Jam (can't wait), Metallica, Sepultura and Crowbar. Pearl Jam being the only one to perform in a festival. There are other names but I'm not interested. I'm still hopping for Alice In Chaind and Soundgarden. XD

Soundgarden's reunion

In new years day I got one of the best if not the best new of the year... SOUNDGARDEN GOT BACK TOGETHER!!!!! I couldn't believe it but it seems the 12 year break is over and they're back. Despite not knowing if the reunion is only to play a few gigs or something more real like recording albuns again this is something to look forward. Soundgarden have been my favourite band since I was in 11th grade. I knew them from way back when they release "Black Hole Sun" but only got in touch with the rest of their music later. But the more I would listen to them the more I would fall in love with the music. The experimental sound of the early albuns and the more structure but brilliant work in the later albuns made them one of the big 4 bands from the grunge era. They were the first out of the 4 to sign with a major label but the last to attain success. They were nominated for several grammy awards but only won 2 in 1995 for best hard rock performance ("Black Hole Sun") and best rock album with "Superunknown". The band ended in 1997 in another pick of their career after releasing "Down On The Upside".

It's really hard to be imparcial about the bands you love specialy the one band you've been addicted for several years straight.
