Oscar predictions

One of my biggest passions in life are films so I could not stay still when I read that the oscars predictions so far are for Inglourious Basterds to win at best picture, and usually the person who wins best picture wins best director as well. I couldn't be happier because Quentin Tarantino is one of my favourites directors.
Apparently Quentim Tarantino can win in January because of the success of this film in both comercial and critical views. For me the big secret of the film success was the actor Christoph Waltz who play the Col. Hans Landa, his characterization was genious and twisted at the same time. Of course Tarantino's creations always have something unique, this time the story being a satire to The World War II and all the characters having something special to distinguish them apart. The way the different scenes are shoot and the dialogues are another way of recognize his brilliant work.
So far the film won one award at Cannes Film Festival, Christoph Waltz for best actor, and Quentin Tarantino was nominated for the Golden Palm.

The plot: In Nazi-occupied France during World War II, a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as "The Basterds" are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis. The Basterds soon cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl who runs a movie theater in Paris which is targeted by the soldiers.
